About the Author
Sarah Fichuk, Pharm.D., BCPS earned her Pharm.D. degree at the University of Texas at Austin in 2007. She then completed a pharmacy practice residency at Harper University Hospital in Detroit, Michigan, followed by a Critical Care specialty residency at Henry Ford Hospital in that city. Since completion of her residencies, Dr. Fichuk has held clinical pharmacy positions in North Carolina and Texas. She currently practices as a clinical pharmacist in Houston, Texas.

Great reference text that makes pharmacy law easy to read.

Very good review and very to the point law pharmacy law text for the Texas MPJE. Reading pharmacy law is very difficult and takes a while to understand, but the author does a good job explaining the main points to know and what you need to know for the exam. However, after taking the Texas MPJE in April 2015, many of the questions on the actual exam weren't points she mentioned at all in her text book, so I would also recommend finding another source as well and not just relying on this book alone for passing the Texas MPJE.

I passed but it wasn't pretty. I got the lowest passing score

I took the exam 3/28/2016 with just using this book and doing the test questions in the back. I passed but it wasn't pretty. I got the lowest passing score. I didn't feel great about the exam after taking it and thought for sure I failed. The questions on the real exam are a lot more applied and scenario based then the questions on the back of this book. The questions in the back of the book are a lot more straightforward. Such as: Can you refill schedule II? On the exam it's more like: A patient comes to the pharmacy and will be going out of town for an extended period of time. How long can you fill his RX of so and so med?
This book is much easier to read then the Texas law website so I still would recommend reading this book for the information but I would also suggest taking other practice exams. Also, the practice exam at the back of this book have many wrong answers so definitely find other practice test questions.

Pretty good

This book was not my sole source but it was partially responsible for my score of 97. It's a good review and the practice problems are very helpful and actually similar to MPJE questions. -1 star for inaccurate information regarding therapeutic optometrists. There were also some instances of vagueness where wording and punctuation are particularly important (e.g. for controlled substance inventory, do you need exact count of 1000-count bottles). This book is 2 years old and is not completely up to date anymore; however, you can find changes in the rules in the TSBP newsletters. Most of the info is still relevant so I recommend going over this book at the end of your studying to tie everything together and give yourself a quick refresher.
